Malak ElGuel is a Libyan multimedia artist. She graduated as a multimedia designer from the American university of Sharjah, and worked with Twothirds Design Bureau for two years, ElGuel is currently taking part in the Salama Bint Hamdan emerging artists fellowship. In the past three years She exhibited her work in The Green Book exhibition organised by WaraQ at Le Cube Independent Art Room in Rabat, Morocco, Retracing a Disappearing Landscape curated by Noon arts projects at P21 Gallery London, Uk , Art Jameel Youth Takeover in Dubai, UAE, Pop Art from North Africa at Casa Arabe in Madrid, Spain.

‘’Through my work i am tackling social and political issues related to the region, specifically my home country Libya. A recurring theme in my body of work is the nostalgia for a world that no longer exists, and a search to redefine what home is.’’
